PIERRE, S.D.-Author Jerry Wilson will be in Pierre next week to discuss and sign his new book from the South Dakota State Historical Society, Waiting for Coyote’s Call: An Eco-Memoir from the Missouri River Bluff.
Wilson will talk about the book and sign copies at the CulturalHeritageCenter on Thursday, Oct. 9, from 12-1 p.m., and from 4-6 p.m. he will be signing copies at Prairie Pages Bookstore.
Inspired by the works of Henry David Thoreau, Aldo Leopold, and Annie Dillard, Waiting for Coyote’s Call covers 25 years of trying to live life while leaving as small an environmental footprint as possible. Wilson encourages the reader to think about his or her place in nature as he recounts his own family’s experiences on prairie and woodland near the Missouri River in eastern South Dakota.
Prairie Pages is also hosting a special South Dakota State Historical Society Press weekend Oct. 9-11. Throughout the weekend, the store will have all the new books from the Press on display, with special offers and promotions.
